The Andorran government has allocated €34,750 to 13 youth-led projects under the JovEmpren2025 programme, organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The initiatives, presented yesterday at the La Llacuna cultural centre, were developed by participants aged 16 to 35 and non-profit groups, emphasising innovation in social, cultural, educational and community areas.
The funded projects span sustainability efforts like bioplastics development, music creation, cultural festivals, digital applications, magazines, professional services and risk prevention programmes. They target fields including music, cultural industries, digital entrepreneurship, youth leisure, communication, health, community engagement and associative activities.
State Secretary for Youth and Sports Alain Cabanes described the event as a "very special day," highlighting the visible results of months of preparation. He linked the programme to the 2023 National Youth Plan, particularly its sixth point on youth emancipation and entrepreneurship promotion. Cabanes noted the key role of Andorra Business, which advised on project evaluation and shaping, and plans further collaboration on financial management training to ensure long-term success. "We don't just want to fund their ideas, but make sure they have a future," he said.
Cabanes added that funding—currently €34,750, not evenly distributed as some projects need more time than others—could rise progressively in future editions. Selected participants may reapply to continue their ventures.
The programme is open to young people with legal, effective and permanent residency in Andorra, plus registered non-profits offering youth initiatives of general interest. It underscores government support for youth creativity and involvement in social, cultural and economic life.
Applications for JovEmpren2026 remain open until 19 June via www.e-tramits.ad.
