  • Shooting of '11' began in L'Ametlla del Vallès; 20% filmed in Andorra with 80-person crew.
  • Thriller stars Mia Sala-Patau as leader Àlex; €3M+ budget from multiple producers and grants.
  • Local Andorran team includes art director Judith Puig and composer Jordi Barceló.

Filming has begun on *11*, a Catalan-Andorran-Argentine co-production involving Andorran company Contraband, which received the final production grant of €125,000 from the Culture Ministry.

Shooting started on Monday in L'Ametlla del Vallès, with the five-week production scheduled to arrive in Andorra during the week of 9 March for its final phase. Crews will film interiors at a barn in La Peguera, along with exteriors in Vall d'Incles, at the Tibetan bridge, and on the Rabassa road. Around 20% of the footage will be shot in the principality, with an 80-person team on site.

Directed by Catalan cousins Clàudia Serra and Paula Serra in their feature debut, the thriller follows a group of Catalan scouts and their two leaders trapped by a storm on a weekend trip to Andorra. Upon reaching a refuge, they discover an extra member—Leo—has mysteriously joined them, sparking tensions. Leader Àlex, played by Mia Sala-Patau (*Com si fos ahir*, *Això no és Suècia*), must make tough choices to protect the children. Pablo Scapigliati (*Com si fos ahir*) portrays the other monitor. The script, by Pau Pujol, Andrea Martínez, and Clara Esteban, delivers a "pure thriller" without supernatural or horror elements, according to producer Pau Riera.

Contraband's Pau Riera and David Haro serve as executive producers, handling Andorran logistics after directing their previous short *La Dama Blanca*. Local contributions include art director Judith Puig, video assist Joan Ferrándiz, makeup assistant Inés el Busto, and unit director reinforcement Maria Solsona. Jordi Barceló composed the score, with a dozen extras—mostly children—for the Tibetan bridge scenes.

The €3 million-plus budget involves Catalan producer Mr. Miyagi and Argentine Aramos Cine, plus grants from Spain's Culture Ministry, the ICAA, and TV3 participation. Completion is targeted before year-end.

Separately, Andorran co-production *Els de Sau*—a biopic on the Catalan band from its Vilanova de Sau origins to singer Carles Sabater's death on 13 February 1999 after a Vilafranca del Penedès concert—is in editing. Directed by Elisabet Terri, it stars Guillem Puig as Sabater and Pol Monent as Pep Sala, with a €1.8 million budget from Imminent and Arlong, plus Culture Ministry support. Release is slated for autumn, likely October.
