Movistar Plus+ Premieres Final Season of Outlander Tomorrow

Movistar Plus+ will premiere the eighth and final season of *Outlander* tomorrow, bringing a 12-year saga to a close after eight seasons and 101 episodes.

The drama series, adapted from Diana Gabaldon's novels and starring Caitríona Balfe as Claire Fraser and Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser, has become one of the longest-running television phenomena of the past decade. Since its debut in 2014, it has built a global following and remains a flagship title on the platform.

The new season picks up with the couple resettled at Fraser's Ridge, their growing settlement in America. Though they had left the US War of Independence behind, fresh conflict engulfs them once more, endangering their home.

Showrunner Ronald D. Moore described the storyline as "a tale of how love endures through time, war, and loss," adding that the finale aims to honour this emotional journey.

The 10 episodes draw primarily from the end of Gabaldon's eighth book, *Written in My Own Heart's Blood* (2014), the full ninth novel *Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone* (2021), and elements of the unpublished tenth, *A Warrior's Blessing for a Safe Journey Home*. As a result, the series conclusion will diverge from the books' ongoing narrative.

Episodes will air weekly on Movistar Plus+ following their US debut, marking the end of one of the streaming service's most iconic productions and a defining chapter in recent international television.
