Sigourney Weaver Cast as Evelyn Wallis in Amazon's Tomb Raider Series

Amazon Prime Video has officially cast Sigourney Weaver in its upcoming *Tomb Raider* series, alongside ten additional actors, with filming set to begin on 19 January.

Weaver will portray Evelyn Wallis, a enigmatic and influential figure keen to harness Lara Croft's talents. The lead role of Lara Croft is already filled by Sophie Turner, one of the earliest confirmed castings. The platform also revealed new additions to the ensemble, including Martin Bobb-Semple as Zip, Lara's lifelong friend and tech expert; Jason Isaacs as Atlas de Mornay, her uncle; and Bill Paterson as Winston, the Croft family butler.

Rounding out the principal cast are Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Celia Imrie, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, and August Wittgenstein.

Series creator, writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner Phoebe Waller-Bridge expressed delight at assembling such a lineup. She highlighted her excitement over bringing "iconic characters" to screen—both fan favourites and new creations—describing the cast as beyond her "wildest dreams."

Peter Friedlander, general manager of Amazon MGM Studios, praised the newcomers for adding "incredible depth and power" to a story known for its bold narrative and unforgettable characters.

Production starts later this month, and the series could premiere within a year.
