Viral Therian Meetup in Andorra Draws Crowds but No Therians Show

Nearly 200 young people gathered at Prat del Roure park in Andorra la Vella on Saturday afternoon after a viral social media post called for a therian meetup at 6pm. The organising account vanished soon after, and no one from the community—individuals who identify psychologically or spiritually with an animal, known as their "theriotip," without physical transformation—showed up in costume or otherwise.

Police kept watch over the crowd, which waited briefly before dispersing without incident. Some participants noted the event had shifted to Sunday at 6pm. That evening, just a couple of dozen teenagers aged 12 to 15 arrived, alongside families with children and dog walkers drawn by online curiosity. Once more, no therians appeared, and the park soon resumed its usual calm.

The non-events highlighted a mix of intrigue and scepticism locally. Mercè, a resident of Escaldes-Engordany, remarked that the buzz gave "too much importance to social media nonsense, as always." Similar viral calls spread across Spain over the weekend, with some actual gatherings there, while the trend gained strong traction in Argentina. In Andorra, though, the promised meetups failed to materialise entirely. Authorities have issued no further statements.
