Sant Julià de Lòria Hosts Second CELLAB Agenda Social Amic de la Mà Against Cancer

Sant Julià de Lòria is hosting the second edition of CELLAB's Agenda Social Amic de la Mà, a series of charity and awareness events against cancer in partnership with the local council. Running from May 10 to 16, the initiative features sports, discussions, participatory actions, and scientific outreach to raise funds for ASSANDCA and promote prevention and research among residents.

The schedule kicks off on May 10 with a charity sports day in Plaça de la Germandat. It includes a zumba class led by Tamara Martos and Sandrix, followed by a barre session with El Rato. Participants pay €10 to register via the organizers' website, with proceeds going entirely to ASSANDCA.

On May 11 at 7pm, Sala Sergi Mas hosts the free roundtable "En el càncer, tu ets part de la solució." Speakers include Dr. Manel Juan, Dr. Climent Casal, and Dr. Antoni Martínez from Barcelona's Hospital Clínic; Dr. Cristina Royo from the SAAS public health service; and ASSANDCA members. Spaces are limited. The event concludes with a presentation of the cheque from the sports day funds to ASSANDCA, followed by illumination of the Centre Cultural Lauredià façade to highlight community solidarity.

A highlight on May 14 is the human chain against cancer in Plaça de la Germandat, involving elderly residents, students from both local school systems, council staff, University of Andorra faculty and students, and health professionals tied to the program.

Alongside public events, the University of Andorra is holding its second symposium on the microbiome and cancer immunotherapy. From May 11 to 16, Sala Sergi Mas presents the free exhibition "Nous enAMICS enfront del càncer," open daily from 9am to 3pm.

CELLAB and the Sant Julià de Lòria council aim to build awareness, support research and those affected, and encourage public engagement through these activities. Organizers urge residents to join in placing health and knowledge at the heart of the community.
