Arinsal Police Arrest Man for Cocaine Possession Outside Nightclub

Police in Arinsal detained a local resident early Sunday morning after discovering 0.5 grams of cocaine—equivalent to roughly two lines—hidden in his pocket outside a nightclub.

The incident occurred just before midnight during a festive night in the popular ski resort area, which has drawn crowds amid exceptional winter snow conditions attracting both tourists and locals. Officers on routine patrol grew suspicious of the man's behaviour near the venue and conducted a brief search, uncovering the small package. He was arrested on charges of a crime against public health, held overnight in police custody, and appeared before a judge Sunday morning. A fast-track procedure resulted in a suspended sentence and a financial penalty for possession of toxic drugs.

In related enforcement actions over recent hours, police also arrested a driver operating a vehicle despite having his licence revoked by court order. That stop took place around 12:15 a.m. near the Aixovall roundabout, leading to charges of a crime against the administration of justice.

Additionally, three other drivers tested positive for alcohol and face related penalties. Authorities have not released further details on those cases.
