Biel Cuen set two new absolute national records for Andorra at the Spanish Clubs Cup in División de Honor, held over the weekend in Sabadell.
Competing for Club Natació Sant Andreu, which finished third overall, the Andorran swimmer improved the national benchmarks in the 800m and 1,500m freestyle events. In the 800m, Cuen clocked 7:56.29, surpassing the previous record of 8:03.53 held by Kevin Teixeira since the European Championships a few weeks ago. He also broke Teixeira's 1,500m mark of 15:19.02 with a time of 15:18.42.
Meanwhile, the Les Serradells pool hosted the Nadal Trophy, which brought the year's swimming season in Andorra to a close with nearly 130 participants.
