- Mijares races Flachau night slalom (1st run 17:45, 2nd 20:45), seeks top 30 after 18th in Semmering and 41st in Kranjska Gora.
- Overcame tibia/fibula discomfort limiting training, confident in top performance.

Carla Mijares is competing in the night slalom at Flachau, Austria, the seventh World Cup slalom of the season, with the first run underway at 17:45 and the second scheduled for 20:45. The Andorran Ski Federation (FAE) alpine skier aims to return to the top 30 after her historic 18th-place finish in Semmering late last year—her first World Cup points—though she placed 41st in Kranjska Gora earlier this year, 0.77 seconds off the top 30 cutoff and missing the second run.
Mijares arrives with confidence despite recent tibia and fibula discomfort that limited her training. "I've trained a bit less than I'd like over the past few days because of some issues in my tibias and fibulas," she said. "But we know exactly where we want to be. If we deliver our best skiing, we can be up front."
Íria Medina finished 15th yesterday in an FIS giant slalom in Sestrière, Italy, with a time of 2:10.89, 2.06 seconds behind Swiss winner Lara Baumann. Her team said she skied strongly in the first run but erred on the lower wall, then struggled to connect and read the wall section in the second. Medina races a second FIS giant slalom on the same course today.
In European Cup events, Jordina Caminal and Cande Moreno prepare for tomorrow's downhill at Pass Thurn, Austria, after yesterday's official training was canceled due to poor weather; a replacement session runs today. Caminal and Cande Moreno are also listed for today's downhill, alongside Bartumeu Gabriel and Xavier Cornella in the continental slalom circuit at Crans-Montana, Switzerland.
