FC Andorra Falls 1-2 to Real Sociedad B, Drops to 16th Near Relegation

FC Andorra suffered a 1-2 home defeat to Real Sociedad B on Saturday at 2pm in the Nou Estadi de la FAF in Encamp, slipping to 16th place on 29 points and now just one point above the relegation zone, with Real Sociedad B rising to 28 points to escape the bottom three.

Gorka Gorosabel gave the visitors an early lead in the 9th or 10th minute, capitalizing on a defence-splitting pass from Aguirre following an error by Álvaro Martín. Jastin Garcia levelled six minutes later with a powerful near-post finish after cutting in from the left. Andorra controlled possession and created chances before halftime, including efforts from Lautaro de León that struck Arana and a long-range strike from Yeray Cabanzón that grazed the crossbar.

After the break, Andorra pushed forward but squandered multiple opportunities. Lautaro wasted a one-on-one with a lofted shot over the bar, Yeray was denied by Arana, and Jastin missed at the near post. Substitutions came early: Martí Vilà and Marc Domènech replaced Álex Calvo and Álvaro Martín at the 55th minute, followed by debutant Marc Cardona and Théo Le Normand for Lautaro and Villahermosa on 68 minutes, and Minsu for Akman on 80. Gorka Carrera clinched the win for Real Sociedad B in the 76th minute, converting a counter-attack started by Adjabeng. Late pressure from Andorra yielded little, with a Le Normand header drifting wide in stoppage time amid five added minutes.

Áron Yaako made key saves but could not stop either goal, drawing whistles from the 1,542 fans disappointed by the failure to convert dominance into points against a direct rival. The loss marked Real Sociedad B's fourth win in five meetings with Andorra, including the 3-0 reverse fixture, and ended their six-game winless streak.

Coach Carles Manso deployed a back four of Sergio Molina and Èdgar González at centre-back, Álex Calvo at left-back, and Jastin up top with Lautaro. Yellow cards were shown to Andorra's Yeray (49'), Álvaro Martín (52'), Akman (74'), Martí Vilà (86') and Minsu (89'), and Real Sociedad B's Beitia (2'), Dadie (44'), Aguirre (48') and Balda (85'). Andorra have now dropped 14 points at home to relegation rivals this season and earned just five from their last 15 overall, with no Encamp win in 2026 since beating Deportivo 1-0 on 20 December 2025. Next up is a Friday trip to fourth-placed Almería, followed by hosting Zaragoza on 22 February.
