Key Points

  • Marc Cardona, 30, free transfer from UD Las Palmas after 6 appearances this season.
  • Proven scorer with 76 La Liga games; scored both goals vs Andorra previously.
  • Misses weekend game vs Osca due to admin delays; ready for Castelló clash.

FC Andorra has completed the signing of 30-year-old striker Marc Cardona on a free transfer until the end of the season, confirming the club's third and final winter addition.

The Lleida native, raised in Andalusia, rescinded the remaining year of his contract with UD Las Palmas this morning after minimal involvement this season—just six appearances and limited minutes across La Liga and the Copa del Rey. His name had been on the club's radar for weeks in case he became available without a fee. Cardona arrives as a permanent deal to bolster the central attack under coach Carles Manso, offering proven experience from nearly 100 top-flight matches, including 76 in Spain's Primera División and 22 in the Netherlands.

Key moments in his career include a standout season at Barça Atlètic, where he scored 17 goals to help earn promotion to Segunda División in 2016/17. He went on to feature for Eibar, Osasuna, Mallorca and Go Ahead Eagles before spending three-and-a-half years at Las Palmas. Strikingly, he scored both goals in Las Palmas' victory over FC Andorra during the Tricolours' debut professional campaign, which ended in relegation to Primera RFEF.

Cardona will miss this weekend's home game against Osca at Nou Estadi d'Encamp due to administrative delays but should be ready for the following match at Castelló.

The other winter signings are centre-back Edgar González, on loan and yet to debut because of minor issues, and winger Yeray Cabanzón, also on loan, who has already played in Copa Catalunya and La Liga Hypermotion fixtures.

Aitor Uzkudun will depart on loan to make room for Cardona.
