Franco Colapinto Tests Snow Kartcross in Andorra After Alpine Shakedown

Argentine Formula 1 driver Franco Colapinto spent his weekend unwinding at Andorra's Pas de la Casa Circuit, where he tested a 600cc kartcross on snow and ice shortly after completing preseason testing with Alpine.

The 22-year-old, who joined Pierre Gasly for the shakedown of the team's new A526 car—powered by Mercedes—at Barcelona-Catalunya earlier in the week, arrived in Andorra with part of his entourage. He drove several laps on the snow-covered track following a rain-disrupted Monday session and a morning wrap-up on Wednesday. Colapinto shared video of the outing on Instagram, captioning it: "I've never had so much fun."

PCR Sport, a motorsport competition firm, extended the invitation for the visit, which circuit officials described as a private test rather than an official race entry. Colapinto chatted with infrastructure director Àlex Bercianos and other track staff, showing keen interest in their explanations. Images captured him inside the kartcross vehicle and posing with circuit managers and team members.

The appearance coincided with the fourth and final round of the GSeries 2026, Andorra's ice and snow racing championship running for over three decades, though Colapinto's session stood apart from the competition. Motorsport media, including Campeones, highlighted the high-adrenaline diversion as a fun break from his professional preparations for the 2026 season.
