Andorran racing driver Joan Vinyes Jr. has unveiled his 2026 GR Cup Spain campaign, entering his second year in the single-make series' third edition with a new Toyota GR86 Circuito Pack. The event occurred at Toyota Motors Andorra in Escaldes-Engordany, alongside company CEO Dani Estragués.

After placing 13th last season, Vinyes targets a top-10 finish overall. The calendar features six rounds and 12 races: starting 27 February at Madrid's Jarama circuit, followed by Cheste in April, MotorLand Aragón in June, a fourth venue pending confirmation, Jerez in September, and Navarra in October. Each weekend includes free practice and qualifying on Saturday with one race, plus another timed session and race on Sunday, awarding separate points.

Vinyes highlighted the switch to a new car with a limited-slip differential—allowed under the tightly regulated one-make rules—as a competitiveness boost. He described the short-endurance races, lasting 25 to 30 minutes, as demanding instant focus. The schedule shifts from 2025's Portimão and Barcelona tracks, now including two Madrid stops and a debut at the Madring circuit, eyed for Formula 1 homologation.

"I am facing this new season aiming to fight for a top-10 position," Vinyes said. "Last year provided solid learning, and I want to be ambitious. The car stays the same with minor enhancements to sharpen its edge. It will be a fiercely contested championship." He aims to outperform his weak 2025 start while matching the late-season form, hoping to end higher than before.

Estragués expressed enthusiasm for the tie-up: "We enjoy supporting a young talent like Joan and look forward to partnering on successes in his racing path."

Vinyes praised the grid's mix of rookies and veterans such as Marcos de Diego, Marc Aguilera, and Sandro Pérez, calling it the series' biggest draw amid the mechanical parity.
