Andorran tennis player Vicky Jiménez has been eliminated from both singles and doubles at the WTA 125K tournament in Oeiras, Portugal.
In singles qualifiers, Jiménez, the world No. 119 and No. 4 seed, lost her opening match on Tuesday to Spain's Leyre Romero Gormaz, ranked No. 143. Romero won 6-4, 6-4 after Jiménez dropped her first two service games in the opening set. Despite leading 4-1 in the second, Jiménez conceded five straight games to exit at the first hurdle. Romero advanced to the last 16, where she faces Serbia's Lola Radivojević, ranked No. 139.
Jiménez's doubles campaign also ended prematurely. After beating their first-round opponents alongside Czech partner Dominika Salkova, the pair fell in the next round to Cascino and Feng in straight sets.
Jiménez is scheduled to compete in a second WTA 125K event in Oeiras next week.
