Andorran international bus services carried 515,739 passengers in 2025, marking a 15% increase from the previous year, based on Statistics Department data released this week.

Operators completed 32,907 trips overall, a 3.3% rise from 31,851 in 2024. Services into the Principality numbered 16,613, up 2.6% from 16,195, while outbound trips totalled 16,294, a 4.1% gain from 15,656. Arrivals reached 258,636 passengers—a 15.7% jump from 223,610—while departures hit 257,103, increasing 14.4% from 224,783.

Outbound routes favoured Barcelona at 60.7%, ahead of Lleida (25.9%), Toulouse (8.7%), Ax-les-Thermes (3.6%), Porto (0.8%), and Costa Daurada (0.3%). Residents made up 18.2% of travellers, rising two percentage points year-on-year, with visitors at 81.8%.

Spanish visitors held at 40.7%, down 3.3 points from 2024, while those from other countries—including the UK, Brazil, Argentina, the US, Germany, and Portugal—accounted for 38%, up 1.3 points. French travellers comprised 3.1%, gaining 0.1 points (excluding foreign lines from Pas de la Casa). The 25-44 age bracket dominated at 37.5%.

Tourists formed 92.7% of visitors, up from excursionists at 7.3%, with tourist shares rising across nationalities: 3.7 points for Spanish and others, 2.2 points for French. Personal reasons drove 94% of journeys, led by shopping (29%), family and friends (19.6%), sports tourism (19.2%), and nature tourism (14.7%). Business travel edged up 1.1 points to 6%.

Summer saw the strongest inbound growth at 16.1%, with spring topping outbound increases at 16.8%. Autumn recorded a slight drop in services, reflecting sustained tourism and mobility pressures.
