The Automobile Club of Andorra (ACA CLUB) has won the FIA Innovation Challenge 2025 for Region I (Europe, Middle East and Africa), with the award recognising its innovative drone pilot training programme.
The prize was presented last Thursday during the FIA General Assemblies in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The winning project involves adapting and implementing a certified training course, created in partnership with Andorran firm AEROFOR and tailored for automobile clubs around the world. It features a mix of digital and hands-on content to ready participants for official drone pilot exams from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
ACA CLUB director general David Fraissinet accepted the award in person. The Andorran club now stands alongside winners from Australia, Canada and Argentina in the other FIA regions.
FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem praised ACA CLUB and its president Enric Tarrado Vives for the organisation's technological leadership. Tarrado highlighted how the success strengthens Andorra's position as a pioneer in vertical mobility while underscoring the club's dedication to safer, smarter and more sustainable transport options.
