A 45-year-old Spanish tourist suffered injuries in a single-vehicle accident on the CG-2 road at Racons in Canillo this morning, after police found he was driving without required winter equipment on the snow-covered route.
Police received the call at 9:54am and arrived at the scene around 10am. The Spanish-registered car, carrying only the driver, veered off the road in snowy conditions. He received on-site medical care before being taken to Nostra Senyora de Meritxell Hospital.
Officers fined him immediately under Article 72.2 of Andorra's traffic code, which mandates chains or winter tyres during adverse weather. No other vehicles were involved.
