MoraBanc Group Registers BEF Name Change to MoraBanc in Spain

MoraBanc Group has officially registered the name change of Banco Europeo de Finanzas (BEF) to MoraBanc in Spain, marking a key step in its strategic expansion plans through 2027.

The Andorran banking group outlined the development in a statement, noting that the entity now operates as MoraBanc with its address at Calle Jorge Manrique 12. This completes the full acquisition of BEF from its sole shareholder, Unicaja S.A. The rebranding builds on earlier moves, including the November 2024 purchase of a majority stake in Tressis and the subsequent absorption of MoraWealth SV by Tressis SV in 2025.

Alongside the name change, MoraBanc in Spain has bolstered its governance team with targeted hires. Juan María Nin serves as chair of the board of directors, while José Miguel Maté, Tressis's CEO, leads the project's overall development. Manuel Aguilera remains general manager, a role he has held at BEF for 13 years.

New additions include Fernando Vallcanera as risks director, with more than 17 years in banking and risk management at organizations like BBVA and UBS in national and international settings. Beatriz Herrero takes on the financial director position, drawing on over 15 years at Ernst & Young focused on audits of regulated entities in Spain and other EU countries. Gustau Yubero heads internal audit, and Gregorio Aranda manages the banking platform.

The group aims to achieve full banking operations in Spain by 2027, following the integration of Tressis. These changes position MoraBanc to grow its presence in the Spanish market.
