Andorra Diesel Prices Drop in May 2026 as Petrol Rises, Still Up 48% Yearly

Fuel prices in Andorra showed mixed movements in May 2026 compared to April, with diesel fuels declining while petrol grades rose, according to data from the Statistics Department. Despite these short-term adjustments, all fuel types remained substantially higher than a year earlier, led by heating diesel increases exceeding 48%.

Diesel for vehicles fell 2.9% to an average of €1.682 per litre, matching the drop in premium vehicle diesel at €1.713 per litre. Heating diesel followed suit, with home delivery prices down 1.2% to €1.362 per litre and store-sold heating diesel easing 0.7% to €1.313 per litre.

Petrol prices moved in the opposite direction. Unleaded 95 octane climbed 1.4% to €1.610 per litre, while 98 octane gained the same percentage, reaching €1.670 per litre.

Year-over-year comparisons with May 2025 revealed sharp rises across the board. Store-sold heating diesel surged 50.9%, from €0.870 to €1.313 per litre. Home heating diesel increased 48.1%, to €1.362 from €0.920. Vehicle diesel jumped 43% to €1.682 from €1.177, and premium vehicle diesel rose 41.5%. Unleaded 95 octane was up 24.1%, and 98 octane gained 23.1%.

Over the first five months of 2026 versus 2025, gains persisted: store heating diesel +21.9%, home heating diesel +20.5%, vehicle diesel +16.6%, premium vehicle diesel +16%, unleaded 95 +6.2%, and 98 +5.9%.

Fuel imports also declined in May, totalling 9.66 million litres, a 13.8% drop from May 2025. Domestic fuel led the fall at 44.4%, followed by vehicle diesel at 6.8% and unleaded petrol at 2.5%. Compared to April 2026, imports fell 13.3%, with domestic fuel down 35.1%, vehicle diesel 8.9%, and unleaded petrol 6.8%.

Year-to-date through May, imports reached 67.63 million litres, down 5.3% from 2025. Over the past 12 months, the total was 160.18 million litres, 1.9% below the prior period.
