The relocation provides larger, accessible spaces with improved consultation areas and confidentiality, serving 500 employment users. It aligns with government upgrades to public services amid shared tenancy with Environment Dept.

Key Points

  • Services move from Boïgues building in Escaldes-Engordany to Avinguda Tarragona 58-62 in Andorra la Vella.
  • New site has 8 public offices on ground/first floors, internal areas on second floor.
  • Public services suspended today/tomorrow, resume Thursday.
  • Supports 500 users; central spot boosts access, confidentiality for inspections.

The Department of Employment and Labour has begun relocating its general services, Labour Inspection area, and Employment Service to new premises at the Les Columnes building on Avinguda Tarragona 58-62 in Andorra la Vella. The offices were previously located at the Boïgues building in Escaldes-Engordany.

The move aims to enhance public services through larger, more accessible spaces tailored to operational needs. The new facility features eight public-facing offices across the ground and first floors, with the second floor dedicated to internal work areas. Main access will be via the ground floor.

Public attention is suspended today and tomorrow due to the relocation. Services will resume normally on Thursday at the new site.

The Employment Service currently supports around 500 users, half actively seeking jobs and the other half pursuing career improvement. All have received prior email notification of the change.

Government officials note the central location improves access, offers more welcoming consultation spaces, and provides better confidentiality assurances, particularly for Labour Inspection inquiries. The relocation aligns with ongoing efforts to upgrade public services to meet current demands. The Les Columnes building also houses the Environment Department, the Lifelong Learning Centre, and CONAVA.
