La Mútua Elèctrica de Sant Julià de Lòria more than quadrupled its net profit for 2025, reaching €321,986 compared to €72,156 the previous year, as shareholders approved the annual accounts on Monday evening.

Operating revenues climbed to €10,019,816, a rise of more than €500,000 from 2024 and up 5.8% overall, driven by client expansion in the Laurèdia area and higher energy use. This pushed operating profit to €460,758—nearly triple the prior year's figure—after operating expenses of €9,559,058. Merchandise consumption for services increased by just over €60,000 year-on-year.

Financial expenses of €98,848 and corporate tax of €45,451 left the final net result. Personnel costs stayed controlled, and dividends dropped to €176,295 from €222,166, with the difference allocated to reserves. Net equity reached €9,238,104 at year-end, including €3,637,803 in capital and €5,600,301 in other reserves, for a total near €9.5 million. Total assets stood at €12.20 million.

The board highlighted these results as evidence of strong activity and resource management, reinforcing the company's investment capacity amid sector challenges. It plans ongoing spending on network upgrades and new technologies to ensure reliable supply.

Some shareholders look ahead to 2027, when they could bid to assume control of the local energy distributor's operations. Officials cautioned that significant future investments might affect this outlook.
