Customs revenues fell 9% year-on-year and 22.7% from 2024 due to border closures at Pas de la Casa, marking the second-lowest monthly total.
Key Points
- Total revenues: €15.471M, down 9% from Jan 2025, 22.7% from Jan 2024.

Andorra's customs revenues totaled €15.471 million in January 2026, a 9% decline from January 2025 and 22.7% lower than in January 2024, as detailed in the monthly income report released Thursday.
This figure represents the second-lowest monthly total for 2025, exceeded only by September's €14.8 million. Border road closures at Pas de la Casa contributed to reduced imports across all major categories year-on-year.
Breakdowns show tobacco duties at €5.368 million, down 9% from €5.8 million in January 2025 and 43% below January 2024 levels. Beverage imports yielded €716,000, a 10.5% drop from 2025 and 5.9% from 2024. Fuel duties reached €4.7 million, reflecting a 7.4% decrease from the prior year and 7.5% from 2024. Other merchandise generated just over €4.6 million, down 10.4% from 2025 but up 1.1% from 2024.
The weak performance echoes the subdued fourth quarter of 2024, which followed stronger periods such as May and July that year. Customs income continues to signal challenges in Andorra's import-driven economy amid ongoing border issues.
