The long-running compendium Andorra en xifres has been transformed from a paper publication into a fully digital, interactive and continuously updatable platform, the Department of Statistics, the Chamber of Commerce and Andorra Business announced. The joint initiative centralises official statistics and aims to provide a single, modern reference for data on Andorra’s economy and society.
The platform, whose origins date to 1999 and which merged with Andorra Bàsica in 2014, is organised into four thematic blocks: an overview with key indicators; Andorra as a European country; Andorra as an advanced economy; and an index of abbreviations and useful websites. It includes international comparisons with European Union countries and the euro area, expanded analytical commentary and interactive charts designed to improve navigation and usability.
The current digital edition incorporates figures updated through 2024 and allows users to download datasets in CSV and Excel formats; additional data-exchange formats such as SDMX will be added. Final figures will be incorporated as they are published, and a live 2025 edition is expected to begin appearing in the first quarter in line with the statistical calendar. The platform’s technical integration with the Department of Statistics website enables automatic updating of data as revisions and new publications are released.
Analytical content has been substantially expanded: commentary now totals 127 pages, up from 55 in the previous edition. New features include improved search and filtering, downloadable visualisations and interactive graphics, all intended to make large volumes of data more accessible and usable for users.
Officials said the redesign responds to growing demand for a centralised, reliable source of national information from companies, entrepreneurs, investors, students and diplomatic missions. The Chamber of Commerce described the change as both technological and conceptual, while Andorra Business stressed the importance of accessible, dependable information for strategic decision‑making.
The Department of Statistics highlighted the project’s technical ambition. Its director noted the platform’s integration and automatic updating capabilities and said that, to his knowledge, no other country has yet deployed a technological tool with these characteristics. The three institutions said the digital Andorra en xifres reaffirms their commitment to statistical rigour and to providing more useful, agile and dependable information on the country.
Alongside the platform launch, the Department published macroeconomic projections for 2025–2030. The update shows a modest improvement in real GDP forecasts for 2025 and 2026 compared with the previous estimate, and includes revised paths for trade, employment and inflation that will be incorporated into the platform as the statistical calendar advances.
