Andorra hotels forecast near‑full occupancy for Puríssima and year‑end holidays
Midweek reservations show strong demand across resorts, with many properties partly or fully booked and last‑minute arrivals likely to lift.
Key Points
- Puríssima midweek bookings: Pas de la Casa 60–75%, Andorra la Vella ~80%, El Tarter 75–85%.
- New Year’s already sold out in parts (Pas de la Casa, El Tarter); Andorra la Vella ~75% for New Year’s.
- Last‑minute bookings are the key variable and could push many properties to 100% capacity.
- Recent snowfall and planned slope openings are boosting booking prospects for the holidays.
Forecasts point to near-full occupancy for the upcoming Puríssima long weekend, although last‑minute bookings — which the sector says have been decisive since the pandemic — are still pending and could change the final figures.
The Association of Tourist Accommodation Companies of Andorra (AET) reported midweek reservation levels of 60–75% in Pas de la Casa, around 80% in Andorra la Vella, and 75–85% in El Tarter.
AET president Àlex Ruiz said a very good occupancy is expected and, given the usual pattern of last‑minute bookings, properties could still reach 100% capacity. He noted that snow conditions are ready after snowfall on Tuesday and more is forecast.
Albert Mora, director of the Andorran Hotel Union, said earlier in the week that prospects for the Puríssima are good. Some hotels are already fully booked, while others show 50–60% reservations and are waiting to fill with last‑minute arrivals coinciding with the full opening of the ski slopes.
Both Ruiz and Mora said the positive outlook extends to the Christmas holidays. According to data provided by some AET members, Pas de la Casa is forecast at 60–75% for Christmas and is already fully booked for New Year’s. In Andorra la Vella the expectation is about 80% for Christmas and 75% for New Year’s. In El Tarter New Year’s is already sold out, while Christmas reservations range between 75% and 85%.
Last‑minute bookings remain the key variable that could still push occupancy to full capacity for the holiday periods.
