Young people in Andorra are increasingly drawn to cryptocurrency investments as a quick path to financial improvement, fueled by a surge of promotional content on social media and online platforms. Ads, videos, and testimonials promise high returns in short periods, often paired with paid courses claiming to unlock the secrets of easy wealth.

This trend has boosted interest in crypto among younger generations, who are comfortable with digital tools and emerging technologies. However, experts warn that such hype masks significant dangers.

Jordi Martínez, director of financial education at Barcelona's Institut d’Estudis Financers, acknowledges blockchain's promise as a secure, revolutionary technology. He notes that some cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin, have solid projects or serve as safe-haven assets. Even so, he stresses that most cryptocurrencies ultimately lose all value.

The core risk, Martínez says, lies in the pursuit of fast money. "This does not exist," he states, dismissing claims from influencers who sell training programs with guarantees of riches in weeks. "You see someone saying: buy this crypto and in three weeks you'll be rich. This does not exist."

Martínez urges a realistic approach focused on long-term investing and compound interest. He emphasizes a fundamental principle: high promised returns come with high risks. "If a financial product promises very high returns, it also has very high risk," he explains, advising caution toward any offer guaranteeing big gains without apparent downside.

As social media amplifies these pitches, financial educators call for skepticism to protect novice investors from potential losses.
