The Business Market Andorra was held yesterday with around twenty start-ups registered, 18 of them from Andorra. The two non-Andorran companies are reportedly considering establishing operations in the Principality, Andorra Business director Judit Hidalgo said.
This was the fifth edition of the event. Hidalgo said that, over the time the market has been running, more than €1.5 million has been invested through connections made there, and the true total may be higher. She noted that investors often give founders room to pivot and that follow-up can lead to later rounds of funding; some investments discussed in the first year only materialized three years later.
Although the number of start-ups was similar to previous editions, attendance rose: about 360 people took part this year, including founders presenting projects and interested investors. Conxita Marsol described the event as consolidated after five editions, saying the goal is to help companies internationalize and find investors and to promote local talent.
