The Centre Comercial Andorrà (CCA) has denied the authenticity of a manipulated email circulating in job-search groups, which falsely claims the company refuses to hire Andorrans or residents.
Human resources staff at the retail centre confirmed the message distorts a standard rejection notice sent to a job applicant. The fake version includes a fabricated line stating that the application was discarded "because management prefers not to hire Andorrans or residents". In reality, the original email—provided to Diari d'Andorra by the company—explains that the candidacy was rejected "because other candidates are considered a better fit a priori".
"It's a manipulated email," said Patrícia Álvarez, the CCA's HR manager. She noted that the response followed the company's template for unsuccessful applicants, but unauthorised words had been inserted. Álvarez added that tracing the source is challenging, given the volume of CVs received and similar templated replies sent out daily—sometimes hundreds.
The company has contacted the administrator of the group where the message appeared, posted via an anonymous account, and requested its immediate removal.
No further details have emerged on the perpetrator or the specific job role involved.
