La Massana parish council has approved a 2026 budget approaching €29 million, marking a nearly 20% increase from this year's €24.24 million allocation.

The budget, led by mayor Eva Sansa and validated on Monday, totals €28.97 million. Capital investments will account for the largest share, exceeding €10 million—specifically €10.33 million, a 34% rise from the €7.7 million planned for 2025. Priorities remain consistent with current plans, focusing heavily on upgrading the parish's water network following issues experienced a few years ago. This remains a key commitment of Sansa's term. Substantial funds will also complete the communal sections of the Massana bypass road, alongside renovations to historic village centres across the parish.

Personnel spending will rise 10% to €6.49 million from €5.9 million this year, while goods and services expenditure will increase 14% to €8.4 million.

A significant item includes €1.462 million to repurchase the final preferred shares of EMAP, the financing mechanism adopted years ago to manage debt from the Pal Arinsal ski resort without breaching communal finance law limits on borrowing. This payment will conclude the process of recovering those shares.
