Key Points

  • Two upper floors now open, increasing retail space and product range
  • First floor: clothing and accessories; second: toys, sports, stationery and temporary electronics
  • Smaller building houses duty‑free on ground floor and will host administrative offices on its second floor
  • Third floor (homeware, food and terrace) still under construction; full inauguration planned for February

After months of work — and with some jobs still ongoing — the renovated SuperU on Avinguda Meritxell opened on Thursday, albeit only partially. The timing capitalised on the long Puríssima weekend and the start of the ski season, and the centre has received a positive reaction from customers, many of whom on the upper floors were visitors and tourists.

The main building, the larger block to the right of the Biscariet passage when viewed from Avinguda Meritxell, is largely finished internally, though provisional elements remain in places and heavy machinery continues to operate, especially outside and in the smaller building. For now the mall is operating with two upper floors accessible instead of just one, increasing space and product variety.

Clothing and accessories occupy the entire first floor. The second floor currently houses toys, sports equipment and stationery and bookshop areas operated by several franchises — from Juguettos to Abacus — and some electronics, although the latter is a temporary arrangement. Multimedia shops are planned to move to the first floor of the complex’s second property unit, whose ground floor contains the duty‑free area. The second floor of that smaller building will host the administrative offices of the Centre Comercial Andorrà.

Work remains to be completed, notably the third floor of the main building, which is planned to accommodate homeware and the food and restaurant zone, including a large terrace. The official inauguration of the full complex is scheduled provisionally for February, when the remaining construction is expected to be finished.
