Spain's Tax Agency has declared Shirtum Europa SLU, a company promoting LaLiga footballers' NFTs with ties to Andorran residents, bankrupt and dissolved after failing to recover most of nearly €50,000 in outstanding personal income tax debts.

The State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT) pursued the firm for two years, seizing up to seven bank accounts and taking various enforcement actions. It ultimately recovered only about €1,500, prompting the company's liquidation, according to an official document obtained by Spanish outlet Crónica Global.

Shirtum Europa marketed digital assets featuring players such as Ronaldinho, Saviola and Rakitic. The project was driven by entrepreneurs based in Andorra, two of whom are now under investigation.

Separately, Barcelona's Investigating Court No. 5 is probing allegations of fraud following complaints from investors. They claim promoters promised returns that never materialised, potentially in a "rug pull" scheme—a sudden withdrawal of funds from a cryptocurrency project. The scheme's backers deny the accusations.

Authorities have not provided further details on the investigation's progress or the status of other assets.
