Camprabassa S.A. has announced that Xabier Ajona resigned as director of Naturland for “strictly personal and family” reasons. His departure was formalised at an extraordinary board meeting on 3 December 2025, and Ajona informed the board that he will be leaving the country.
The board agreed that Miquel Llanas, until now Naturland’s financial director, will assume the role of general director. Camprabassa expressed “full confidence” in Llanas’s ability to provide continuity and lead the project into its next phase.
Ajona, who took charge in June 2020, said he leaves satisfied with the work done and thanked the Naturland team, the board and the institutions involved. Camprabassa highlighted a series of changes and achievements during his tenure, including a comprehensive redefinition of the project and business model, measures to stabilise the organisation’s finances, professionalisation and consolidation of the team, and the closure of the animal park as part of a strategic repositioning. The board also cited the creation of new business units, the development and consolidation of signature sporting events, strengthened institutional relations, and improvements to control, security and quality systems that it said increased Naturland’s coherence, competitiveness and visibility.
Camprabassa publicly thanked Ajona for his service and wished him success in his future personal and professional endeavours. Press attempts to contact Ajona were unsuccessful; Naturland later confirmed he would not be making further statements. The parish’s chief consul, who chairs Camprabassa, also declined to comment when approached.
Local reporting provides additional context: in earlier interviews Ajona acknowledged departures from his core team, warned of the urgency of new investments, and attributed some delays in launching projects to changes on the Camprabassa board following the 2023 municipal elections. Those accounts were reported as background and were not cited by the company as reasons for his resignation.
As shareholder and principal backer, the Comú de Sant Julià de Lòria said it expects a new viability plan for Naturland to be debated and approved by Camprabassa before the end of the year and implemented next year, with the aim of attracting private investment. The parish’s chief consul praised the improvements made under Ajona and reiterated confidence in Llanas to lead the next stage.
