Andorra Launches 'Encara Passa' Campaign Against Ongoing LGTBI-Phobia

The State Secretariat for Equality and Citizen Participation has launched the "Encara passa" awareness campaign to highlight ongoing LGTBI-phobia in Andorra, timed with the International Day Against LGTBI-Phobia observed on Sunday.

The initiative aims to spotlight discrimination still faced by LGTBI individuals, breaking cycles of hatred, rejection, and stigma. It emphasises that such phobia appears in varied forms, often through everyday incidents of hostility or bias that become normalised or overlooked.

By recreating these common scenarios, the campaign seeks to help people recognise the behaviours, raise awareness, and address them. It addresses both those affected and the wider community, stressing shared responsibility for fostering a fairer, more respectful society free from prejudice.

Beyond awareness, the effort provides practical support by publicising Andorra's resources for anyone experiencing or witnessing LGTBI-phobia. The Equality Policies Department offers the email igualtat@govern.ad, along with emergency lines 110 and 181, for guidance and assistance.

State Secretary Mariona Cadena oversees the campaign, which has the backing of key LGTBI rights groups Diversand and Horitzons. These organisations advocate for collective rights and promote diversity and inclusion.

The government has reaffirmed its strong commitment to combating discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
