Andorra la Vella Hosts Third Setmana dels Oficis to Train 13 Youths in Municipal Jobs

Andorra la Vella is hosting the third edition of the Setmana dels Oficis this week, partnering with the Fundació Privada Nostra Senyora de Meritxell. The programme involves 13 young people aged 16 to 21 from the Fent Camí pre-employment training initiative.

The effort seeks to support participants' personalised move from education into professional environments and the job market. The partnership, which began in March 2023, operates on a two-way model: youths complete training stints at municipal sites, while staff host sessions on career paths. It adopts an integral, person-centred framework to enhance social abilities, self-reliance, decision-making and work skills through tailored routes aligned with each individual's preferences.

Over the course of the week, the group rotates through a different municipal service each day for two-hour sessions. These educational activities, coordinated with department leads, feature support from a council technician focused on job placement, equality and labour cohesion, as well as Fent Camí educators. The visits include teams from hygiene and environmental services, Casal Calones and Casa Pairal sites, the culture area, and BiciLab.

Counsellor for Talent Management and People, Eva Tadeo, emphasised the initiative's social value. The parish takes pride in hosting the event for a third consecutive year and partnering closely with the foundation, she said. Experiencing municipal routines firsthand enables the youths to guide their futures, gain independence and uncover vocations in public service. She added that the staff's enthusiasm for involvement reflects Andorra la Vella's dedication to equal opportunities and workplace unity.

Now well-established following pilots in 2024 and 2025, the programme highlights the capital's commitment to integrating young people into employment.
