Escaldes-Engordany's Comú and Unió Pro-Turisme have organised a three-day programme of events to mark Sant Miquel d'Engolasters, the main celebration on 8 May, which has been a parish holiday for the past two years. The activities, open to all parish residents, run from 7 to 9 May and blend cultural, traditional, recreational, and sporting elements.
The festivities begin on the evening of 7 May with a performance of dramatised local legends around a bonfire at the old Engolasters shooting range, starting at 21:30.
On 8 May, the central day, a walking route sets off from the church square at 09:00, heading up to Engolasters in line with longstanding custom. Morning family-friendly sessions include an insect hotel workshop at 10:00, giant wooden games from 10:00 to 13:00, a medicinal plants outing with ointment-making at 10:30, and a guided tour of the hydroelectric path at 11:30 from Casa dels Guardes.
At noon on Pla de Sant Miquel d'Engolasters, a sardana dance takes place at 12:00, followed by the presentation of the Pubillatge 2026-2027 and a floral offering. The mass and blessing follow at 13:00, with a performance by Esbart Santa Anna at 13:30 and a distribution of fideuà noodles and coca at 14:00. A chess tournament starts at 14:00 at GEVA's headquarters.
The programme concludes on 9 May with a pétanque competition at Prat Gran pitches from 09:00, with on-site registrations that day.
A free shuttle bus will operate on 8 May between Plaça Santa Anna and Pla de Sant Miquel d'Engolasters from 09:30 to 17:00 to ease travel. All events require advance registration, with limited spaces available.
