Titled “Els testimonis materials de la construcció del Coprincipat d’Andorra,” the gathering will outline the candidacy’s current status, its goals, and the historical elements underpinning the dossier submitted to UNESCO. It focuses on physical remnants tied to the origins and institutional formation of the Andorran co-principality, as part of broader Pyrenean heritage preservation efforts.
The event is presided over by Episcopal Co-Prince and Bishop of Urgell Josep-Lluís Serrano i Pentinat, La Seu d’Urgell Mayor Joan Barrera Aranda, and Alt Urgell County Council President Josefina Lladós Torrent. Their involvement underscores shared institutional support from Andorran and Urgell territories.

Historian and cultural heritage expert Carles Gascón Chopo will deliver a lecture titled “Últimes notícies de la catedral. Dels orígens visigots a la candidatura UNESCO,” highlighting the historical and architectural significance of the Urgell cathedral complex and its role in the project.
The initiative unites political, ecclesiastical, and heritage representatives in a cross-border effort. It is backed by the European Interreg POCTEFA/PYRÉPAT programme with EU co-financing, alongside support from the Andorran Government, Diocese of Urgell, La Seu d’Urgell Town Council, Alt Urgell County Council, and the French department of Ariège.
The event aims to elevate the candidacy’s international profile and strengthen Pyrenean collaboration on cultural preservation.
