The Skål Club of Andorra marked the 40th anniversary of the Museu Casa d’Areny-Plandolit with an exclusive visit to the Ordino heritage site on 19 May. The event featured special participation from Carolina d’Areny-Plandolit, one of the last family members to live in the house before its transfer to the Consell General and transformation into a museum.
Ordino councillor for tourism and local development Jordi Serracanta welcomed the group and emphasised the parish’s status as a leading tourist destination. He described tourism professionals, including Skål members, as ambassadors for Andorra’s cultural and heritage sites, helping to promote them to visitors. Serracanta joined a brief tribute to d’Areny-Plandolit during the gathering.
Club president Joaquim Barceló called the visit a homage to one of the country’s most iconic patrimonial and tourist landmarks, which vividly reflects Andorra’s history. He noted that such events align with the club’s ongoing efforts to build synergies, networking, and cohesion among tourism professionals across various sectors.
Participants enjoyed a free guided tour arranged with Museus d’Andorra. D’Areny-Plandolit added a personal touch by sharing anecdotes and memories from her time in the residence, spanning the late 1970s and early 1980s. Beyond her family connection, she has long been active in Andorra’s tourism industry, particularly skiing, and remains a prominent Skål Club member. Her insights offered an intimate perspective that complemented the guide’s explanations.
The itinerary concluded with a visit to the Fira del Vermut in La Cortinada.
