Andorra Opens Nominations for Youth Civism Award Honoring Social Commitment

The Association of Recipients of the French Legion of Honour and National Order of Merit (ACLHMF), with support from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, has opened nominations for a new edition of the Youth Civism Award.

The prize honours young people in Andorra for their social commitment, solidarity, and community engagement, whether acting alone or in groups. It targets students in secondary education, bachillerato, and vocational training across the country's school systems, as well as those under 20 not enrolled in formal education.

Josep Dallerès, the association's president, said the award seeks to spotlight committed and exemplary youth as a source of hope for the nation's future. He added that societal progress stems from people who look after others, step up in challenging moments, and show generosity, rather than just big accomplishments.

Nominations are divided into the Individual Civism Award and the Collective Civism Award. A panel will assess entries based on their social influence, potential to motivate peers, creativity, and the lasting viability of the actions.

The association is calling on schools, municipalities, social organisations, NGOs, emergency units, associations, and the general public to put forward candidates with standout attitudes, supportive mindsets, or tangible positive effects in their surroundings. It particularly welcomes authentic accounts of youth driving respect, harmony, and active involvement.

Entries must reach condecorats.fr@andorra.ad by 5pm on 2 October. Winners receive €600, a diploma, and a commemorative plaque.
