Escaldes-Engordany Celebrates 48th Festa de la Parròquia with Historic Dodge Fargo Revival and Mountain Paella

Escaldes-Engordany marks its 48th parish anniversary with Festa de la Parròquia, featuring historic Dodge Fargo revival and mountain paella, plus family events.

Key Points

  • Historic Dodge Fargo, restored by Ministry of Culture, restarts at Parc de la Mola, symbolizing Andorra's tourism heritage.
  • Mountain paella on June 14 at 13:30 for €5, including commemorative plate and full meal; tickets via commune services.
  • Saturday kicks off with Castellers d’Andorra; Sunday features kids' festival, concerts, Esbart Santa Anna show, and water park.
  • All events free except paella, open to public on June 13-14.

Escaldes-Engordany will host its annual Festa de la Parròquia on 13 and 14 June, marking the 48th anniversary of the parish's creation with a packed schedule of public events.

The highlight will be the display and restart of the historic Dodge Fargo's engine at Parc de la Mola. This iconic vehicle, one of the first used to transport French tourists to Andorra and usher in mass tourism, has undergone restoration led by the Ministry of Culture, Velles Cases Andorranes, and the Escaldes-Engordany commune. The effort was spearheaded by Claude Benet, a scholar of Andorran language and history and former minister. Abandoned for years, the vehicle's revival symbolises the nation's cultural heritage and shared memory.

Another centrepiece is the mountain paella on Sunday 14 June at 13:30 in Parc de la Mola. Tickets cost €5 and include a commemorative plate, rice serving, bread, wine, ice cream, and coffee. They are available at the commune's Tràmits service and the Santa Anna square tourist office, or on the day until sold out.

The festivities kick off on Saturday 13 June with a performance by Castellers d’Andorra in Plaça Coprínceps. The weekend features family-oriented activities, including a children's festival, a show by Esbart Santa Anna, a coreofitness exhibition from the Sports Department, concerts by Els Senyora Big Band and the Escaldes-Engordany Choir, plus a water park with games and other kids' entertainment on Sunday.

All events are free except the paella and open to everyone.
