Andorra la Vella's Curulla Programme Ends Third Edition with 36 Youths

The third edition of Andorra la Vella's Curulla programme concluded on Monday, involving 36 youths aged 16 and 17 who worked in shifts across July and August.

Organised by the local council, the initiative gave participants their first exposure to the workplace through hands-on tasks in about ten departments. These covered areas such as Procedures and Taxes, Social Services, Talent and People Management, Hygiene, and Sports.

This year maintained the programme's commitment to inclusion by featuring four participants with disabilities. Cònsol menor Olalla Losada described Curulla as a well-established project after three editions. She highlighted how it enables young people to gain initial work experience, take on responsibilities, and observe council operations firsthand.

Losada stressed that the two-month placement aims to deliver lasting benefits. Participants acquire skills and knowledge that support their future development beyond routine duties.

A key change this edition extended daily shifts from five to six hours, accompanied by a salary adjustment. Officials noted this responded to input from previous participants and allowed deeper engagement with departmental work.

Among those involved, Ona Folch from Talent and People Management reported gaining substantial knowledge and new connections. Pol Vilana, placed at the congress centre, spoke of overcoming initial nerves to develop assurance. Mali Campolier, working in Procedures and Taxes, called the experience enriching, crediting colleagues' guidance for insights that will benefit her education and career.
