Around 50 participants enjoyed beers and music on the bar crawl launch of the three-day Sant Roc festival

Encamp's Festa Major 2026 launched Friday evening with a bar crawl featuring Band The Marxa, which drew participants through local streets before reaching Plaça dels Arínsols for youth events and concerts.

The procession began at 7:30pm from Parc de l’Ossa, passing five bars including Bar de l’Ossa. Around 50 revellers joined, holding beers and cocktails as music sustained the mood. Light showers loomed but stayed away initially.

Culture, Youth and Childhood councillor Joan Sans hoped conditions would hold, noting forecasts of intermittent rain over the weekend that organisers could handle. The event signalled the start of the three-day festival honouring Sant Roc, mixing traditions with contemporary draws.

The crawl fed into the €25 youth dinner at 9:30pm in Plaça dels Arínsols. Sergi Silva of the Festivals Commission said activities, singing and dancing would lead directly into concerts by DJ Richy Vuelcom from 11pm and Óscar Vega at 2:30am.

Saturday brings Soulstorm's covers concert and the Els 40 On Tour party, alongside sports, family activities and traditional events like bell ringing and masses for Mare de Déu and Sant Roc. Sunday features a new tribute to parishioners over 85, with Elderly and Social Affairs departments, plus an evening set by Mari Baz DJ.

Silva called on residents to join and sustain customs. Security exceeds last year's levels after Festa del Poble incidents, with enhanced Civil Protection, police and traffic support.
