A Valencian family has completed a month-long, 550-kilometre trek across the Pyrenees, culminating at Andorra's Comapedrosa summit to raise funds for a school in Nepal.

Noel Arraiz and Águeda Monfort, together with daughters Vera, 9, and Asia, who turned 13 during the journey, started at Cap d’Higuer on the Cantabrian coast. They tackled nearly 30,000 metres of positive elevation amid extreme summer heat that intensified the challenge.

The family reached the 2,942-metre peak of Comapedrosa to end their expedition. Noel Arraiz described the arrival in Andorra as indescribable after a month of hardship and unforgettable moments, particularly due to the heat.

Launched under the slogan “Cada pas compta” (Every step counts), the effort supports reconstruction of Seduwa school in Nepal’s remote Makalu Valley via NGO SOS Himalaya. The family highlighted their privilege in enjoying such family adventures while many children lack basic opportunities, including education.

The fundraising campaign remains active for donations to aid the project.
