Andorra Hosts First Meeting of Reference Women, Unveiling Expert Database

Around 40 professionals from various sectors attended Andorra's first Meeting of Reference Women, organised by the Andorran Women's Institute to build connections and collaborations among female experts.

Held on 29 September, the gathering focused on the Reference Women Database, established in 2023 under Law 6/2022 for equal treatment and opportunities between women and men. The registry lists 84 profiles of women with expertise in key scientific, economic, social, and cultural areas, aiming to boost their involvement in public debates, analyses, reports, and discussions. It is accessible on the institute's website and open to additional registrations to broaden representation across society.

Institute representatives outlined the database's progress over the past three years, emphasising its role in fostering professional networks and new opportunities. The event positions the tool as a dynamic resource, extending beyond a static list to encourage ongoing synergies.

The meeting also highlighted partnerships to promote women's voices, including recognition for journalist Marisol Fuentes of Cadena SER Andorra. Her programme, Amb Veu de Dona, explores women's careers and experiences in Andorran society, with the institute collaborating on related interviews.
