Sant Julià de Lòria Tourist Points See 70% Visitor Surge in Summer

Sant Julià de Lòria's tourist information points recorded 8,590 visitors in July and August, a 70% increase from the 5,053 seen in the same months of 2025.

The parish's three sites—the main tourism office in the town centre, the new Sant Cristòfol location, and the Canòlich Sanctuary point—accounted for the growth. The town centre office saw 4,256 visits, Sant Cristòfol drew 3,044 in its first summer season, and Canòlich had 1,290.

Comú de Sant Julià de Lòria officials described the summer as highly successful, pointing to the "Viu l’estiu a Sant Julià de Lòria" programme. It featured activities highlighting the parish's natural surroundings, heritage assets, cultural sites, and immersive experiences that drew strong interest from visitors and locals alike.

Standout events included guided ethnobotanical trips paired with cooking workshops exploring plant biodiversity and traditional uses, as well as theatrical tours "Cases i carrers de Sant Julià de Lòria" that brought local history to life through residents' stories.

Outdoor pursuits gained traction with options such as Tamarro Lau, Camí de la Senyoreta, trail routes, the La Rabassa-La Peguera path, and the "Som Bosc" Moments nature immersion. Cultural attractions covered the Ronda Laurediana circuit, key tourist sites, the Sant Julià and Sant Germà de Lòria church trail, Canòlich Sanctuary, and the Romanesque Sant Serni de Nagol church.

Data from tracked activities showed 3,545 total engagements. The "Macarulla El món trapella d’en Llimoi" path led with 3,211 visitors from 1 July to 6 September. Camí de la Senyoreta recorded 171, "Som Bosc" Moments had 50, the five theatrical tour sessions attracted 100 participants, and the ethnobotanical outing with workshop reached 13.

The tourism department praised the results, noting how the diverse offerings reinforced the parish's appeal as a summer destination blending nature, culture, heritage, and outdoor adventures.
