The University of Andorra (UdA) has bolstered its research collaboration with the University of Perpignan Via Domitia (UPVD), while laying groundwork for joint projects involving the University of Girona.
UdA Rector Juli Minoves and Vice-Rector Josep Fortó visited the UPVD last Friday, September 18, where they met with UPVD President Yvan Auguet and Vice-President for International and Cross-Border Relations Laurent Cavaignac. Discussions centred on cross-border research efforts, including the development of shared projects and opportunities for European funding. The institutions aim to expand these initiatives by incorporating the University of Girona, capitalising on their regional proximity and aligned expertise.
The Andorran delegation also toured key UPVD facilities, including the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences on the Mailly campus, as well as the business incubator and Bioenvironnement platform on the Moulin-à-Vent campus. Auguet is scheduled to make an official visit to Andorra soon.
The prior day, September 17, Minoves and Fortó attended the formal opening of the academic year at the University of Toulouse Capitoli. French National Assembly President Yaël Braun-Pivet, a former student there and the guest of honour, delivered the keynote address. Minoves took part in presenting the Academic Palms awards and held discussions with Braun-Pivet and Carole Drucker-Godard, Rector of the Montpellier Academy.
