Key Points

  • Participatory process closed with exceptional resident and landowner engagement.
  • Second phase gathered input via meetings with locals, Culture Ministry, and departments.
  • Contributions to be organized into final report with action list by year-end.
  • Project aims for 2027 budget inclusion, possible two-phase execution.

Andorra la Vella's parish council and R Consultors, the firm overseeing the strategic plan for the Santa Coloma and La Margineda Patrimonial Arc project, have closed the participatory process this week as part of the initiative's second phase.

Cònsol menor Olalla Losada praised the strong turnout from local residents and property owners, noting that the engagement exceeded expectations. "There was a lot of participation," she said, adding that some residents who had not initially planned to join requested interviews and appeared pleased to contribute. Losada emphasised that the project will incorporate their input to ensure it reflects community needs.

The second phase, launched last October, followed an initial stage focused on historical context, heritage analysis, and identifying key patrimonial elements in the Santa Coloma and La Margineda areas. It involved meetings with neighbours, landowners, the Culture Ministry, and relevant parish departments to gather opinions and shape the project.

With data collection now complete, the team will organise the contributions and draft a final report outlining proposed actions. Losada expressed confidence in meeting the timeline: finalising the action list by the end of this year for inclusion in the 2027 budget, allowing implementation to begin next year. She noted that execution might proceed in two phases if the scope proves too broad, "because if we're doing it, we should do it right."
