Several museums and cultural centres across Andorra have opened winter exhibitions spanning ink drawing, illustration, comics, archaeology and historical photography.

In Canillo, Espai Galobardes is hosting Dibuixos amb tinta i canya, a show of Francesc Galobardes’s ink-and-reed drawings. Using Chinese ink and a reed pen, the works offer personal interpretations of Andorran Romanesque motifs and churches such as Sant Miquel d’Engolasters, Santa Coloma and Sant Joan de Caselles. The exhibition runs through 31 December.

La Massana’s Biblioteca Comunal is presenting originals by Arnau Sánchez Campamà made for an illustrated edition of Virginia Woolf’s London, published by Trotalibros. The display is open until 5 January. Also in La Massana, the Museu del Còmic is showing Solo, a retrospective of the heroic character created by Óscar Martín, one of the artists known for work on Tom and Jerry comics; that exhibition continues until 16 January.

At the Centre d’Art in Escaldes‑Engordany, Del néixer al renéixer: Vivències a l’antic Egipte brings together archaeological material loaned from the Museu Egipci de Barcelona (Fundació Arqueològica Clos) to offer perspectives on daily life in ancient Egypt. The show, which includes guided visits, is scheduled to run until 21 February.

Espai Columba in Andorra la Vella displays Andorra Romànica en 40 mirades, a photographic series by Rafa Contreras shot with a vintage analogue camera that seeks to capture the timeless character of ten Romanesque churches; it remains open until 17 January.

A historical photography survey, Pioners 1884–1954 — drawing on holdings from eleven authors and nine photographic collections preserved in local archives — traces the techniques and viewpoints of Andorra’s earliest photographers. The exhibition is on view at the Sala d’Exposicions del Govern in Andorra la Vella until 3 March.

Meanwhile in Canillo, entries to the sixth Christmas comics contest are on display at the local library through the end of January following the awards ceremony.

Together, the exhibitions create a season-long cultural programme across several parishes, from contemporary illustration and comics to archaeological displays and early photography.
