Children from Andorran, French, and Àgora schools in La Massana will take centre stage in the town's main Carnival parade on Friday, dressing as comic book characters.
The Gran Rua Infantil de Carnaval begins at 10.15am with a gathering in Plaça de l’Església, when Carrer Major will close to traffic. Around 850 pupils, along with children from Llar el Petit Príncep—who will join the festivities but skip the parade route—will start marching at 10.30am. The procession will proceed along Carrer Major to the roundabout in front of Les Fontetes, loop around, and return to the plaza. Roads should reopen by 11.30am at the latest, with drivers advised to detour via Anyós during the closure. Avinguda Sant Antoni will also see disruptions.
Schools have nearly finished preparing the costumes, promising a vibrant event. Culture councillor Mònica Solé described it as a showcase of collaboration between the Comú de la Massana and local schools to keep traditions alive. She praised the institutions' efforts in crafting the outfits and noted the comic book theme's perfect fit, given the parade's path past the La Massana Còmic museum.
The Carnival week features additional activities, including workshops from Esplai and Punt 400, plus a creative session titled “Per Carnaval ens posem un somriure” for children of all ages, run by La Capsa on Wednesday, 18 February. Pre-registration is required at 344 506.
