The Orquestra Nacional Clàssica d’Andorra (ONCA), backed by the Andorran government and Creand Fundació, will stage the concert *Tecnologia i humanitat* on 18 April 2026 at 8pm in the Auditori Nacional d’Andorra in Ordino.
Under the baton of Jhoanna Sierralta, the performance contrasts technological precision and repetition with the emotional depth of human experience. It begins with Piotr Ílitx Tchaikovsky’s *Serenata per a cordes*, a hallmark of European romanticism. The programme then shifts to minimalist works suggesting mechanical rhythms, such as Philip Glass’s *Company* and Steve Reich’s *Clapping Music*. György Ligeti’s *Ramifications* probes complex sonic layers, while Arvo Pärt’s *Fratres* invites reflection amid silence. The selection closes with pieces by contemporary composers Shawn Okpebholo and Daniel Kidane, bringing modern viewpoints to the theme.
ONCA artistic director Joan Anton Rechi highlighted music’s enduring human quality in an age of screens and algorithms. “Music remains one of the most profoundly human spaces we have,” he noted.
Tickets are on sale now via www.onca.ad, at €15 general admission and €10 reduced rate for Carnet Jove, Carta Magna, and Targeta Blava holders. The event seeks to move beyond standard concerts, encouraging audiences to ponder technology’s place amid the human drive for connection.
