Sant Julià de Lòria's cultural and congress centre is on track for full reopening by late May or early June, after overcoming a facade incident last November, according to Cònsol Major Cerni Cairat.

Cairat shared the update during the traditional Sant Sebastià popular escullada event, which was relocated due to ongoing facade work but should return to its usual spot next to the building next year. Work resumed at the planned pace following the detachment of a facade piece, which caused only material damage and a two-week delay. "We are sticking to the original plan," he said, expressing confidence in completing the reconstruction—now in its final months—despite more than three years of inactivity since the fire.

The reopening will feature a major celebration worthy of the parish's cultural scene, with details to be announced soon by the Culture Department team. Once operational, the centre will quickly ramp up to full capacity. Planners aim to revive established programmes, including the joint season with Andorra la Vella and the theatre cycle backed by the French embassy. Interest has poured in from various companies eager to stage shows there.

The facility will also serve local needs, accommodating third-sector groups, parish cultural organisations, and the University of Andorra. "We already have many requests to schedule performances, which excites us," Cairat noted, emphasising the need to restore this key asset for both Sant Julià and Andorra by filling it with art and culture.

Much of the reconstruction cost will be covered by insurance payouts of €7.5 million for fire damage, following negotiations that briefly slowed progress. Cairat stressed that after the long wait, the centre will soon bustle with activity again.
