Vision boards—visual collages of dream destinations, motivational quotes, and personal ambitions—have taken off among Andorran residents aged 16 to 30, fueled by social media influencers and content creators.
The practice, which has spread rapidly across the Principat like a global phenomenon, helps users maintain focus on their goals through images, drawings, and other elements. Psychologist Mireia Català likens it to a form of manifestation for future aspirations. "People use it to visualize what they want to achieve," she explained, adding that it provides psychological stimulation and emotional reinforcement, akin to believing positive thoughts attract positive outcomes, but visualized.
Català attributes the surge partly to influencers sharing their boards online, with workshops now offered locally. She sees the strongest interest among 25- to 30-year-olds, who often have more financial stability to pursue tangible aims. In this age group, goals tend to grow more realistic, she noted.
Beyond motivation, the boards act as a nervous system stabilizer, offering an anchor for calm. Català views them as an introspective exercise that not only reflects current identity but also future aspirations, aligning brain function with personal growth. She suggests using them as a hobby for setting practical yearly targets, provided they remain grounded and achievable.
That said, Català stresses they are no replacement for professional therapy. They cannot treat issues such as anxiety, depression, or trauma, but work well as a casual self-motivation tool.
